Online-Lecture by Josephine Apraku and Dr. Jule Bönkost, IDB Institut für diskriminierungsfreie Bildung Berlin
LAB 5: (in) relationships
The speakers will address the importance of dealing with language for anti-discriminatory practices in museums and other cultural institutions. What changes, including structural changes, must be implemented so that we can communicate without discrimination? Using the examples of racism and sexism, the African studies scholar Josephine Apraku and the American studies and cultural studies scholar Dr. Jule Bönkost discuss how language and discrimination are connected. In the subsequent discussion, they will explore the question of what possibilities we have for language practices that are critical of discrimination and how actors can anchor these institutionally.
Please note that this event be held in German!
